Biographical and Biometric Registration
In the heart of Kapoeta North County, a vital process is underway that promises to revolutionize the way aid is distributed to crisis-affected populations. As of the 25th of March, 2024, the Nateregat center has become the epicenter of a groundbreaking initiative: the Biographical and Biometric registration of those grappling with the impacts of the ongoing crisis. Spearheaded by dedicated teams from UHDO, ADRA, and WFP, this initiative marks a significant step forward in humanitarian assistance efforts.
Streamlining Aid Distribution
The urgency of such endeavors cannot be overstated. In crisis situations, the most vulnerable populations often face numerous challenges, ranging from access to essential services to protection from exploitation and abuse. Traditional methods of aid distribution, while well-intentioned, can sometimes fall short in reaching those who need it most. That’s where the Biographical and Biometric registration process comes in, offering a beacon of hope amidst the chaos
The biographic and biometric Training
The biographic and biometric training of 30 enumerators and their facilitators concluded well in greater Kapoeta. The teams are ready to register the 283474 caseloads in Kapoeta north, Kapoeta east, Budi, and Lafon
Practical Training On Biometric
Immersed in an intensive training program spanning March 14th to 15th, 2024, participants engaged in comprehensive theoretical insights and hands-on practical sessions.

Cash Payment to support girls
In partnership with Stromme Foundation, in girls Education – South Sudan (GESS), UHDO actively carried out payment cash support to girls, collecting data and data entry in 2020
Empowering Adolescent Girls & Boys in South Sudan
UHDO completed a training of trainers on Aflateen+ for our partner Peace Power South Sudan with support from Aflatoun International. The youth – led organization. Peace Power South Sudan aims to build a peaceful and prosperous South Sudan through #youth programs and provision of quality #education services to communities. We are happy that they will be able to deliver programs to young people in South Sudan!
Training of Teachers in Yei River State, South Sudan
UHDO conducted a two weeks training of teachers in Yei River State in teaching Life Skills and Financial Education (Aflatoun International SFE). The dynamic active teaching & learning capacity-building exercises were well received by participants. During the ‘image theatre’ exercises teachers reflected on the challenges youth are facing in their communities. Training Of Trainers
UHDO with support from UNICEF – GPE funded, conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) on the orientation of teachers on newly developed textbooks for the new curriculum of South Sudan Ministry of General Education & Instruction. The participants were from NGOs operating in hard to reach locations
Talking Compound Project
With the funds from UNICEF, UHDO implemented a project of “Talking Compound” in selected Primary and Secondary schools in Juba, Yei and Kajo-Keji Counties, as a model of child friendly schools, child protection and conducive learning environment
Northern Bahr El Gazal
With support from UNICEF, UHDO conducted a training of teachers on Literacy & Numeracy in Maper National Teachers Training Institute.
LAINYA COUNTY
With support from UNICEF, UHDO implemented the new innovation of cluster system of Education which involved Community mobilization in Lainya County as a tool for child protection, stay in school for
long, and smooth transition to the next level of education cycle.
KAPOETA COUNTY
Hand on the job is one of the approaches UHDO believe in and the instructors for TVET apply to the out of school youth. With the expertise of elders who had learned a lot through learning by doing, teachers, and youth out of school were sent for field study trip especially to meet this elder man who earn his living through skills work of craft in Kapoeta.
AFLATOUN CLUB STORY ON AGRICULTURE
“The Social & Financial Education activities has brought a lot of changes in our lives as we the students of Pamoju girls secondary school formed one of the agricultural club for vegetable growing in the school. The club members came out with this initiative to improve the well fare of the students in the school, generate funds for the students in the club, poster team spirit of doing things, improve good working skills and knowledge of doing things in the school and society at large, promotion of peace among the students, community of the school and South Sudan at large.”

Social and Financial Education program has created a total change in the life behavior of ourselves particularly in involving ourselves in lifelong project of planting trees that helps in many areas of environmental protection, and earning our living in terms of personal requirements needed for our learning needs like school fees, uniforms, exercise books, pens and many others.

Peace Corps Organization Project
UHDO as a consultant, conducted a Primary School Leadership, Inspection and Supervision training organized by Peace Corps Organization covering Payams in Pibor Administrative Area of; Gogol thin, Pibor, Lukwangole Central, Kongor, Bebuzen, Umar, Lawal, Kirika, Lokilich, Ngoli and Akilo from 7th – 8th, June 2017, with funds from Save The Children – South Sudan
TVET Training
UHDO staff was fully participated in the translation & Validation of TVET materials into five National Languages found in South Sudan. A consortium of; Fin Aid South Sudan, SPEDP, Empower were the runners of the project.
Orientation Of Teachers
UHDO conducted orientation of Teachers, Education Managers and other stakeholders on the New South Sudan Curriculum in Kapoeta targeted 400 teachers.
Pibor Training
UHDO conducted the training (capacity building) of Teachers’ & Education Managers in Pibor. 1 – 30.08.2019. Targeted teachers were 33 and 15 Education Managers in the State. A range of key stepping materials were designed as a package for these groups to learn.
Kajo-keji Training
UHDO conducted training of Teachers, Head Teachers, and Supervisors & Inspectors on leadership & Inspection in Kajo-Keji County. In collaboration with the Government & UNICEF – GPE funded program.
